Paul Strand was an American photographer nd filmmaker who, along with fellow modernist photographers like Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Weston, helped establish photography as an art form in the 20th century. His diverse body of work, spanning six decades, covers numerous genres and subjects throughout the Americas, Europe, and Africa.
Strands work really focuses on patterns and details which relates well to my own. He uses light to enhance areas and create interesting shadows and patterns. He looks for bold, stand out patterns that really will catch the eye.
Whilst at home i was working in a very dark area and it got me thunking about how light can really change photos so experimented with torches and the results were so interesting. Below is an example of what the light did, I really love how it just captured a small slither of work.
